The 2014 Seneca Niagara Fall Poker Classic continued Sunday with the start of Event #2, a $125 buy-in no-limit hold’em event with a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. The special event features six separate starting flights across three days with the survivors advancing to Day 2 on Wednesday to play down to a champion.

The first flight began at 11 a.m. ET and when registration closed after eight levels a total of 114 entries were tallied. Only 28 survived the day, with Mandy Smith and her stack of 148,200 leading the way.

Smith quickly climbed the leaderboard near the end of the day and won a big pot on the final hand of the night. With the flop showing {4-Spades}{6-Spades}{J-Diamonds} Smith checked and her opponent bet 12,000. Smith the announced all in, effectively putting the other player all in for around 65,000 more. He eventually folded the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} face up, and she flicked her cards to the dealer without showing.

Some of the others advancing in the first flight were Josh Knight, Carol Leonardi, Kristan Mackiewicz, and Cameron Bartolotta.

Be sure to stay tuned to our continuous coverage of Event #2 throughout the week!
