Peter Raimondi pulled us aside to tell us about a hand that took place at his table moments ago. A player raised to 900 from under the gun and three players called, including Raimondi and Louis Hawkins.
The flop brought with two diamonds and the under-the-gun player led out for 2,200. Raimondi and Hawkins both called, bringing the on the turn. The aggressor bet again, this time 4,500, and Hawkins released. Raimondi called.
The river was the to bring three diamonds on the board. The under-the-gun player slowed down with a check and Raimondi moved in for 15,000. His opponent thought it over before folding a set of jacks face up. Raimondi said he had pocket nines for a smaller set.
Meanwhile, Hawkins told us that he folded the on the turn and would've completed his flush on the river.
We asked Raimondi if he was bluffing the river, and he said he was trying to represent the flush draw on the turn and was shoving on the river even if he didn't hit his set. Regardless, he won the pot and is now at 38,000.
