Pace Doubles Again!

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On the very next hand, Bruce Pace and Scott Hosbach built a sizable pot to the {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades} river. Pace checked, Hosbach moved all in and Pace went into the tank.

He stared down Hosback for about a minute before making a decision.

"I call. F***."

Hosbach sheepishly turned over the {J-Spades}{8-Hearts} for air and Pace's {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} was good enough to scoop a massive pot.

Pace Doubles Through Gautreau

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Pierre Gautreau raised to 22,000 from the cutoff and Bruce Pace called on the button. The flop brough {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Gautreau checked. Pace fired 30,000, Gautreau moved all in and Pace snap-called.

Gautreau: {Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Pace: {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Pace flopped a straight and needed to fade a mirace to double up. He did just that as the board bricked out, and Pace doubled to 280,000.

Brian Bowen Eliminated in 7th Place ($846)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On a flop of {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}, Joe Ciffa led out for 25,000 and Brian Bowen moved all in for 85,000. Ciffa asked for a count and then called.

"I need help," said Bowen as he tabled {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for a straight draw. Ciffa was leading with the {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}, and the {2-Hearts} turn and {A-Diamonds} river kept Ciffa in front to eliminate Bowen in seventh place.

Break It Up

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

The final seven players are on a 10-minute color-up break. Chip counts coming shortly.

Jonathan Revere Eliminated in 8th Place ($656)

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Jonathan Revere moved in preflop from early position and Joe Ciffa called from the small blind. Revere was in bad shape with the {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} against Ciffa's {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, and the {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board provided no help for Revere. Ciffa has chipped up to 330,000 and is in prime position to win back-to-back Summer Slam titles.

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Aaron Obstein opened to 15,000 from the cutoff and Jim Burkett moved all in for 85,000 from the small blind. Scott Hosbach called instantly from the big blind and Obstein folded.

Burkett: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Hosbach: {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Burkett was in great shape and he had no sweat at all on the {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} board,

Maurice Sessum Eliminated in 9th Place ($529)

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Scott Hosbach was under thre gun and announced a raise to 18,000 and Maurice Sessum moved all in for 37,000 from directly behind. The rest of the table folded and Hosbach tossed in a call.

Sessum: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Hosbach: {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The table erupted when the flop rolled out {Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, giving Sessum top pair but Hosbach trips. The {2-Diamonds} turn and {2-Clubs} river improved Hosbach to a full house and Sessum was eliminated.
