Thomson Tumbles

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Day 1b chip leader Jimmy Thomson just sent his last 43,000 to Blake Napierala. Thomson shoved preflop with the {A-Spades}{4-Hearts} from early position and Naperiala called from the button with the {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}. The rest of the table folded, and the board ran out {K-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} to eliminate Thomson.

We're now two spots away from the money. Several short stacks are barely hanging on.

Klass Wins Wild Flip Against Healy

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

With a limp in front, Guy Klass moved all in for his last 85,000 with the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Brian Healy called with the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. Klass groaned when he was he was flipping and Travell Thomas provided some encouragement.

"What are you worried about? You have the best hand."

That changed quickly when the dealer rolled out a {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop, but Glass picked up flush outs on the {8-Clubs} turn. Sure enough the {3-Clubs} peeled off on the river and Klass pumped his fist in celebration.

"I said you had nothing to worry about!" said Thomas with a laugh.

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Aaron Obstein opened from late position and Jeff Kandefer called from the big blind to see a {5-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. Kandefer moved all in for 31,000 and Obstein tank called, flipping over the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. He was ahead of Kandefer's {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the board ran out {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} to eliminate Kandefer.

Curtains for Gaddi

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Scott Gaddi was all in preflop with the {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Jacob Ostrander called with the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. The board gave both players a pair of aces but Ostrander's queen kicker played to send Gaddi to the rail.

Wilmot's Stack Wilts

Shawn Wilmot, Jr.
Shawn Wilmot, Jr.

Shawn Wilmot was left with only 5,000 in chips after losing a big flip with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} to {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}. He was all in from the big blind on the next hand and woke up with the {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}, but unfortunately Vince Palma had the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The jacks came up short this time and Wilmot exited short of the money.

Dimmig Dusted

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jonathan Dimmig began the day well above the average stack with 213,500 but all of those chips quickly spread around Table 6. The last of them went to Buck Ramsay, who opened to 8,500 from middle position and then called Dimmig's 60,000-chip shove.

Ramsay: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Dimmig: {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The flop came down {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} to give Ramsay two pair and the pot.
