Alfred Stempien Eliminated in 8th Place ($7,192)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Fred Stempien
Fred Stempien

Alfred Stempien got it in over a Kurtis Boutelle raise and Boutelle made the call.

Stempien put his tournament life on the line with the {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Boutelle had the monster {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}.

The {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop was good for both as Stempien picked up a combo draw and Boutelle made a set. The {8-Diamonds} turn may have made Stempien a flush, but it filled up Boutelle, leaving Stempien drawing to a {10-Diamonds} river to win it.

The {2-Clubs} looked nothing like it and Uncle Karma hit the rail as Boutelle crested two million.

Alex Visibsky still leads, however, after getting his 168,000-chip river bet paid of in a pot with Ryan Rivers. holding tens and a threes.

Torrance Crowns DeRubeis' Queens

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Silvio DeRubeis
Silvio DeRubeis

Silvio DeRubeis pushed in with the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Nathan Torrance made the call holding the {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

DeRubeis flopped a set on the {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Spades} board, needing it after the {3-Spades} turn and {4-Spades} river gave Torrance a set as well.

A timely double for DeReubis sees him cross the seven-figure mark with Torrance maintaining a little above.
