Gone Fishin'

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante
Steve Auld
Steve Auld

St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada's Steve Auld has vaulted into the lead here early.

He told PokerNews a fishy table draw is the main reason. In fact, he hasn't really won a big pot yet despite building a stack close to four buy-ins into Level 6.

"I've caught a lot of fish" he said. "A lot of little ones really."

A Beautiful Thing

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante
Jason Harvey
Jason Harvey

Wilson, NY's Jason Harvey held {5-}{5-} versus {a-}{k-} on an {a-}{k-}{5-} flop to double up early.

Then he made trip nines at the same time as Scott Aitchison, but had him out-kicked. As a result, he's the early chip leader and the man to beat in Level 5.

Peter DeSantis
Peter DeSantis

Peter DeSantis is running like a God here early.

He made it five times the blind preflop early on with {8-}{5-}, flopped trip eights and managed to get Kristan Mackiewicz to commit all here chips with pocket nines.

She headed to the cage to fire another bullet as DeSantis climbed up the leader board.

Aitchinson Takes Aim

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante
Scott Aitchison
Scott Aitchison

Scott Aitchison, who has turned Seneca Niagara into his own personal ATM by cashing in almost every event the poker room runs - Including a 41st place finish for $459 in the first event on the Summer Slam schedule Sunday - is on the pathway to another deep run here.

He raised it up preflop with the {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} getting three callers before a {7-}{7-}{4-} flop fell.

It checked around, but when the {6-} came down on the turn, Aitchison managed to get one short stack holding {a-}{6-} to commit his chips drawing dead.

As a result, he's climbing up the early leader board and in contention as usual.

The Bartolotta Blues

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Cameron Bartolotta
Cameron Bartolotta

Cameron Bartolotta flopped a set of tens versus pocket aces in a massive pot that would have seen him take the chip lead as the money bubble approached on Day 2 of Event #1 Sunday.

Unfortunately for him, the turn came an ace, and although he hung on to cash, his dreams of another deep run here at Seneca Niagara were dashed.

He's back at it today, however, and thanks to finding quads and two full houses already, he has his stack in range of the early leaders.

Buffalo, NY's Jon Segun is off to a quick start.

The cagey veteran managed to get all of one player's chips with {a-}{j-} versus {a-}{k-} by flopping and ace and rivering a jack. All the money went in on the end and Segun found a double up and a spot among the early leaders
