Block Up; Stempien Out!

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
John Stempien
John Stempien

Rick Block made it 3,000 and John Stempien called. The flop fell {a-}{q-}{j-} and Block continued for 7,300.

Stempien flatted and jammed in on the {5-} turn for 21,000. Block made the call with {a-}{k-} and was in great shape against Stempien's {q-}{9-}.

The river bricked and as Stempien hit the rail, Block chipped up to a spot near the top of the counts.

Klein Hits Gutter; Takes Lead

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Jeff Klein
Jeff Klein

Mike McKeever got it in with {j-}{8-} having made a pair on a {6-}{8-}{9-} flop. Jeff Klein made the call with {a-}{10-} for two overs and the gutshot.

Sure enough, the {7-} turn competed Klein's straight and as McKeever hit the rail, Klein pushed over and above 100,000 in chips, becoming the first player past that post.

Mackiewicz Triples; Nichols Out!

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante
Kristan Mackiewicz
Kristan Mackiewicz

Kristan Mackiewicz pushes all in under the gun for 6,300 and Mike McKeever calls before Tyler Nichols pushes all in for 11,700 more in the big blind.

McKeever calls with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and has the best hand with Nichols on {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Mackiewicz holding {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

The board rolls out {Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} with Mackiewicz finding the better two pair to triple up and McKeever winning the side pot to send Nichols home early.

Rick Block
Rick Block

2015 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam Event #1 champ Rick Block jumped in late and immediately four flushed with pocket sixes to double up.

A few hands later he picked up aces, got it in against pocket eights and now has more than triple the starting stack.

All this to no one's surprise as the Alden, NY resident wins everything and always seems to have it or get there. His resume also includes a WSOP Circuit ring win in Atlantic City, a Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza win in Las Vegas and Main Event victory at the 2014 Fall Poker Classic right here at Seneca.
