Acevedo Takes Control; Final Two Tables

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Kirk Acevedo
Kirk Acevedo

Kirk Acevedo made it 57,000 under the gun and Frank Katana called before Tyler Gardner shoved in from the big blind for some 200,000 more.

Both players called and the flop came down {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Acevedo led into the dry side pot for 140,000 and Katana called. The turn came the {8-Clubs} and after Acevedo checked, Katana took the lead, betting 200,000.

Out of his chair at the time, Acevedo announced he was all in. After a minute in the tank, Katana mucked. Acevedo rolled over {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} having flopped a set. Gardner had {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and was drawing dead.

Following a meaningless river card, the massive pot was pushed to Acevedo and he grabbed the chip lead as the first player up to two million in chips.

With 20 left they just redrew for seats at the final two tables.

King Tighe!

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Pat Tighe
Pat Tighe

Pat Tighe three-bet a Tyler Gardner open, then called it off with {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} when Gardner shoved.

Gardner held {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Tighe's kings held on a {3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} run out to give him twice as many chips.

Napierala Crests One Million

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Blake Napierala
Blake Napierala

Blake Napierala opened, Jeffrey Hobrecker three-bet big and Napierala four-bet jammed.

Hobrecker insta-called with {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}, but Napierala had the goods, showing {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} and doubling through on a {6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{j-Hearts} board.

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Silvio DeRubeis
Silvio DeRubeis

Silvio DeRubeis busted three short stacks in one hand, getting them all in preflop with {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} versus {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, and {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

The board rolled out {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{2-Clubs} to give him a set and a triple knockout that included former big stack Steven Przybl.

DeRubeis is now the third player past the one million chip mark.

Tighe Catches Stempien

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Pat Tighe
Pat Tighe

Pat Tighe is healthy again after sniffing out a John Stempien bluff.

He called all the way down on a king-queen high board with just pocket tens, collecting a sizable pot when Stempien tried to bluff the river and mucked.

Stempien had risen from the ashes today, going from 55,000 to 500,000, but is relatively short again now.
