Irachi Cools Thomas

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Travell Thomas now has one foot out the door after a set-over-set debacle has left him crippled.

He got it all in with Sammy Irachi on an {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop holding a set of eights. Unfortunately for him, Irachi had a set of aces, which held on the {J-Clubs}{3-Hearts} run out.

Hobrecker Hung Out To Dry

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jeffery Hobrecker is out after doubling up one short stack with {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} versus {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}, then shipping his last few chips in with an ace and running into a Dan Wagman flush.

With 20 players remaining they are drawing for new seats at the final two tables.

Conron Crushed

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
David Conron
David Conron

David Conron's collapse is now complete. He raised under the gun to 15,000 and Joe Ciffa made the call from the small blind.

Ciffa checked the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, but check-raised all in when Conron bet 30,000. Conron made the call for his tournament life with {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and would need help against Ciffa's {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

None came on the {5-Clubs}{7-Spades} run out and Ciffa's set held.

Gauchat Leads

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Kyle Gauchat
Kyle Gauchat

Kyle Gauchat has pushed into the chip lead and past the 300,000-chip mark.

His latest move up the ladder came courtesy of Jeffery Hobrecker, who bumped it to 18,000 from the small blind after Gauchat and Martin Stiles limped. They both called and the flop came {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

Hobrecker continued for 21,000 and only Gauchat called. The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and a check-fold from Hobrecker after Gauchat bet 45,000.

Conron Slips Again

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

David Conron's slide continues here as he just doubled up Brian McCormick.

Conron bet 35,000 into about 40,000 on a {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop only to see McCormick push in for some 45,000 more.

Conron made the call with two tens and was ahead of McCormick's {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} until the dealer burned and turned the {a-Diamonds}. The river came the {6-Clubs} and McCormick doubled through.

In and Out

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

In just the first few hands back from the break David Conron has been bumped from the chip lead.

He got in a raising war with Canadian Carl Sellars pre-flop that eventually saw Sellars all in for close to 120,000.

Conron had queens, but Sellars' {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} spiked a king on the flop and he doubled up.
