Thomson Crippled, Doubles Back

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante

Gene Amplement just crippled Jimmy Thomson in a huge hand after flopping quads.

Amplement flatted a 70,000-chip bet from Thomson on a {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop. Then they both checked the {q-Spades} turn. But when the {2-Diamonds} river came down and Amplement bet 215,000, Thomson went deep into the tank.

Eventually he called, but mucked when Amplement showed {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for quads.

The next hand Thomson doubled back to contention with sixes against {k-}{q-}.

Rob Davis Eliminated in 6th Place ($1,767)

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Rob Davis

Rob Davis defended his big blind against a 60,000-chip open from John Michalak.

The flop fell {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and after a Davis check, Michalak continued for another 60,000. Davis check-raised all in having Michalak covered and he pondered the call for a good two minutes before making it with {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

Incredibly, he was right, Davis was on a flush draw with {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Davis missed on the {6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} run out.

Left crippled on the next hand Davis ran sixes into Cameron Bartolotta's jacks and busted out.

Davis Doubles

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Rob Davis got it all in with {a-}{j-} against Jimmy Thomson's {2-}{2-} and managed to hit an ace on both the flop and the river to double up.

Tighe Doubles

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Rob Davis made it 50,000, Pat Tighe pushed in for 107,000 more and Davis made the call.

Tighe showed {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and was dominating Davis' {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

After the {10-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} board was revealed Tighe collected the double up.

Christopher Trybus Eliminated in 7th Place ($1,359)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Christopher Trybus limped under the gun and Cameron Bartolotta called from the small blind. Gene Amplement checked his option and the {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop.

Trybus bet 43,000, Bartolotta shoved and Trybus called off his remaining chips with {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Unfortunately for him, Bartolotta held {8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and his two pair filled up on the {8-Spades} turn. The river came the {3-Hearts} and Trybus said goodbye seventh.

Trybus Doubles

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Cameron Bartolotta raised, Christopher Trybus shoved and Bartolotta snapped him off with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

Bartolotta had Trybus' {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} dominated, but the {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs} board made Trybus two pair on the end and he doubled through.
