Chip Counts At The Break

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Shane Pierce Eliminated in 10th Place ($4,412)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
Shane Pierce
Shane Pierce

Shane Pierce made it 90,000 to go and Jason Nablo and Julie Billiteri both called. Shawn Edinger also called in the small blind and they went four-ways to a {6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop.

It checked to Nablo and he bet 150,000, Billiteri and Edinger called before Pierce pushed in for around 500,000 total.

It folded to Edinger and he called with the {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flush draw. Pierce had the {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} set, but the {10-Diamonds} turn made Edinger a flush. The {7-Spades} river did not pair the board and Pierce Exited 10th.

Following Pierce's elimination, the table went on a 45-minute dinner break. Play will resume at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time

Desimone Done, Final Table of Ten

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

John Desimone shoved for 200,000 with the {9-Spades}{8-Spades} and got the call from big stack Matt Fergenbaum holding the {k-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Fergenbaum made a pair of kings to send Desimone home 11th. With that, they have moved to a final table of ten.

Dae Dae, Rellinger Out

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
David Battaglia
David Battaglia

Mike Rellinger made it 85,000 and Matt Fergenbaum called from the small blind.

Fergenbaum checked the {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop and Rellinger bet 185,000. Fergenbaum check-raised 250,000 more and Rellinger called. The {k-Diamonds} came down on the turn and Fergenbaum open-shipped.

Rellinger called off for his tournament life with the {a-}{j-} and Fergenbaum had the 3d3c]. The set held to rail the man they call "Mayor".

In the meantime, on the other table, Russ Campanella made it 100,000, and David Battaglia got it in for 500,0000. Campanella called with aces and Battaglia's eights failed to improve.

Smith, Kaemmerlen, Tieu All Out

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Sammy Smith got short and doubled once, then he shoved kings over a Russ Campanella 75,000-chip raise for close to 500,000.

Campanella called with two sevens, then made a set on a {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} board to send Smith out 16th.

Ray LaRouech, Michael Tieu and Peter Kaemmerlen then got in a three-way all-in, 600,000-chip pot with LaRouech holding two jacks, Tieu on the {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Kaemmerlen at risk with the {k-Spades}{5-Spades}.

The board ran out {9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and LaRouech scooped it all, including a 200,000-chip side pot, with Kaemmerlen going out 15th.

Tieu then exited 14th when he ran his last 300,000 into LaRouche with fives versus sevens and did not improve.

Rellinger Calls It Off, Doubles

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Mike Rellinger raised the button to 75,000 and Peter Kaemmerlen shoved the big blind, having him covered.

Rellinger tank-called off for 400,000 with the {a-}{3-}. Kaemmerlen had the {a-}{5-}, but there would be no chopping this battle of the weak aces. The board ran out {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Rellinger doubled huge to leave Kaemmerlen in the danger zone.
