Napierala Felted in a Bizarre Hand

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Blake Napierala
Blake Napierala

Newton Graziano made it 10,000, Blake Napierala made it 30,000, and the dealer was suddenly alerted to the fact the small blind had only one card. Play continued with the small blind's hand deemed dead, since there was already significant action. It folded to Sammy Smith on the button and he shoved 100,000.

The big blind called for significantly less with the {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}, Graziano folded, and Napierala called off a little more than the 30,000 he already had in with the {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Smith had the {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, and after the dust settled on a {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{q-Spades} board, the big blind tripled up and Smith busted Napierala in a side pot.

Nablo's Run Continues

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jason Nablo kept getting outflopped until he was down to 60,000.

Then Thomas Mader jammed jacks into his kings on a {7-}{8-}{10-} flop. Nablo called and held, climbing back up near the top of the leaderboard again.

Rice Cooked

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jason Kanel
Jason Kanel

Jason Kanel has replaced Alex Rice near the top of the counts.

Kanel flopped a set of sixes versus a Rice flush draw, got it in, and held to double through him.

Rice then dusted off the rest jamming it in with a rivered pair of sevens versus a made flush.

Elia Stacks The Lead

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Joseph Elia
Joseph Elia

Joseph Elia raised it up with the {a-}{10-} and got two callers. It checked to him on an {a-}{10-}{4-} flop and he led out.

Both players called, and when the {9-} turn came down, the first one to act led for 17,000. There was a call, and Elia piled it in for 110,000.

The leader called all in for 80,000 with the {a-}{9-}, and the caller folded. The river bricked, and thanks to that massive cooler, Elia now leads.

Kross, The Hard Way

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Nathan Kross
Nathan Kross

Nathan Kross raised from middle position and got three callers. He checked the {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, and one opponent led out. The other two folded, and Kross pushed all in for 25,000 effective. His opponent called with the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Kross had a little, but a lot, with the {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and although he missed his flush draw, and a chance at two pair or trips, the {4-Spades} turn and {5-Spades} river gave him a runner-runner wheel.

Busting another victim, Kross moved up close to 200,000 and now has a spot among the leaders.

Binking The River

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Sammy Smith
Sammy Smith

Sammy Smith called an all in with two pair, aces and nines, against a made diamond flush with just one card to come.

He binked a nine on the river to bust the shorter stack and now has 150,000 and a spot in the upper half of the counts.

Rellinger Also Rides Again

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Mike Rellinger
Mike Rellinger

After dusting off a huge early chip lead, Mike "The Mayor" Rellinger fired again and this second bullet appears to be working out just fine.

Over the last 40 minutes of play, he's busted four different players, including one who shoved 40,000 with middle pair into his flopped flush.

Rellinger took a little time between bullets, ditched the Detroit Tigers gear pictured here, and regrouped. Whatever he did, it's working, as he's over 200,000 now, and looking to bag big as the field moves into the flight's later levels.

Hobrecker Rides Again!

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Jeffery Hobrecker
Jeffery Hobrecker

After a raise in front of him, Jeffery Hobrecker three-bet. John Araujo cold-called out of position and the raiser came along.

It checked to Hobrecker and he bet 19,000 on the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop. Only Araujo called. The turn brought the {j-Spades}, and Araujo fired out 34,000. Hobrecker called.

Finally, on the {10-Hearts} river, Araujo checked and Hobrecker moved all in. Araujo snap-called with two kings for the straight, but Hobrecker had the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for quads.

Araujo was left with only a few chips and a chair, busting out unceremoniously soon after, while Hobrecker, who grabbed the chip lead in the first flight of this tournament last year, grabbed it again right now.
