Mark Roberts
Mark Roberts

Niagara Falls, Canada's Paul Robinson hasn't busted a single player yet, but he's got three starting stacks in front of him.

A series of big hands and big bets has him cruising up to 30,000, without having to show his cards all that often. Mark Roberts is on his direct left, and he's busted at least one player and showed two cards.

Roberts got all this unlucky opponent's chips getting it in with big slick racing jacks and turning the goods. He's another with three stacks headed into Level 6.

The board reads 120 entries now with the prize pool continuing to grow well past the $10,000 guarantee.

Steve Herman

Amherst , NY's Steve Herman and another player both made trip eights. Herman's kicker was better and he doubled up over 20,000.

A minute later, he got it all in with aces versus queens and queen-king. Aces held and Herman has got the chip lead heading into the flight's first break. Alert the Star Destroyer to prepare for his arrival.

The board reads 129 entries and counting, with registration and re-entry still open through the 15-minute break and three more levels after it.

The board reads 136 entries going into Level 8. A decent number already.

Plus, the registration and re-entry period is open until the end of Level 9. It looks like a pretty juicy prize pool will be created by the time that is said and done.

However, a starting stack will only get you ten big blinds in Level 8, so it's likely there will only be a few more entries. Wait and see.

Matt Brunskole
Matt Brunskole

A 30-year-old window installer from Niagara Falls, Canada won $36,024 and the Seneca Fall Poker Classic Opening Event in the wee hours of the morning.

Matt Brunskole got the best of a 636-entry field that built a $160,113 prize pool and stayed up late to play for the biggest chunks of it.

Local legend Jason Nablo was also spotted roaming around last night taking $10,183 of it by making fourth. He turned up at the cage and bought a ten big-blind stack about ten minutes ago. Five minutes ago he fired again. Two minutes ago, he was back at the cage pondering bullet number three, and yes, it looks like he just bought it. Legendary.

Fellow Seneca legend Jerry Calvaneso was certainly happy to see his buddy Nablo go deep, and fire away with a bit of that cash he earned, but tonight he's doing it for Enzo.

Steve Herman
Steve Herman

Steve Herman still leads after his tens held against ace-king and king -queen in a massive three-way all-in pot.

In fact, he's got 90,000 now. There's a chair on the other side of the room with about 90,000 sitting in front of it as well, and we'd have to agree with it. That many chips this early and you can afford to take a break when you want to.

Alicia LaPorte Pachla and Rayshawn Smalls always do. They've been doing her thing through the early levels and both have healthy stacks with the registration and re-entry period minutes from closing.
