The 2017 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam Main Event drew a whopping 269 entries for its second and final starting flight inside the Niagara Falls Poker Room at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino Saturday.

When added to the 145 from the first flight, the grand total reached 414 creating a $220,869 prizepool that will pay the top 45 finishers.

A min-cash is worth almost double the buy-in at $1,193 and a $51,904 first-place prize awaits the winner.

By the time 15 40-minute levels of play were through a total of 55 were left standing. This group will join the 33 that survived the first flight to make for 88 returning for Sunday’s playdown to a champion starting at 11 a.m. local time.

Fairport, NY’s Scott Hosbach won every hand he played in the final three levels, dominating the end the flight to bag over 500,000, and not just the second starting flight lead, but the lead overall. In fact, no one is even close.

However, making it to the money and beyond will be no easy task Sunday, with a number of the area’s top players still in the mix and stacked.

The 2017 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam Main Event moves on to its final day Sunday and it should be a dandy as they play into the money, onto a final table, and down to champion.

PokerNews will be on hand to cover all the action, so stay tuned.
