$10,000 Guaranteed for Summer Slam 2018 Event #5

The fifth event of the Summer Slam 2018 will kick off Tuesday evening with cards in the air at 5 p.m. local time in Niagara Falls, NY. Event #5: $120 No-Limit Hold'em features unlimited re-entries and a $10,000 guarantee.

The first $120 event played out Monday night much to the delight of the staff here at the Seneca poker room. The event gathered 167 entries which is the most received for a $120 single-day festival event since the Summer Slam was created. William Lewandowski took home the lion's share of a $15,865 prize pool that saw him walk away with $4,282.

Players will start with 10,000 tournament chips and play 20-minute blind levels. Late entry and re-entry will remain open until the start of level 10 and the action will continue until the last player is standing.

On the turn of a {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs} board, Maria Parlatore fired 700 out of the big blind into a three-way pot and was called by a player in early position. The {3-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Parlatore continued for 1,500 which got a fold from her opponent.

Mackiewicz Loses a Chunk

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With about 8,000 in the middle and a board reading {q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}, Kristan Mackiewicz fired 4,500 and eventually called the clock on her heads-up opponent. Before the floor staff could arrive, Mackiewicz's opponent made the call, and the {2-Hearts} hit the river.

Both players checked and Maciewicz mucked when her opponent tabled the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

Parlatore's First Bullet Misses

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Jeremy Hoeltke had Maria Parlatore all in and at risk on the flop of a {6-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} board. Hoeltke was ahead with top pair holding the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} but Parlatore was drawing to a flush the {k-Spades}{j-Spades}.

No help would come for Parlatore as the board ran out {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and she was sent to the registration desk.
