Derbyshire Finally Gets a Hand to Hold

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

A player in middle position opened to 2,100 which was flatted by the player on the button. Marty Derbyshire was next to act in the small blind choosing to three-bet to 6,500. The original raiser moved all in for just a bit more getting the button player to fold before Derbyshire made the call.

Marty Derbyshire: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Derbyshire had some bad beats recently having kings cracked twice previously and wasn't too optimistic. The dealer gave him a sigh of relief as the board fanned out {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and pushed him the pot.

Robert S Shows the Bluff

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

A sizeable pot was brewing on the turn of a {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} between Robert S and another player. With the action checked over, Robert fired a bet worth 12,000 into a pot of about 25,000 forcing his opponent into the tank.

The two exchanged pleasantries that eventually led to Robert telling his opponent he would show if he folded. His opponent mucked and Robert tabled the {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} for just ace high leaving a sour look on his opponent's face.

Babula Boosted by a Bust

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

After an open to 1,200, Chris Babula and another player in the hand flatted. A fourth player in the hand moved all in for 6,250 getting rid of the original raiser but Babula and the third player made the call.

The flop came down {4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Babula bet 10,000, enough to cover his opponent. His opponent called and all three players tabled their cards.

Chris Babula: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Short-Stacked All in: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Babula was able to fade to take the side pot and chop the main pot.
