Isaak Zaps Zakomoldin
Level 8
: 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Maxim Zakomoldin in early position and Wilhelm Isaak on the button were heads-up on a flop of J♥5♥3♣, with around 15,000 in the middle.
Zakomoldin responded to a bet of 8,000 from Isaak with a check-jam to 52,500. After asking for a count, during which Zakomoldin said "I'll show if you fold", and "I think I'm good", to which Isaak responded "You're definitely not!", the call was made.
Maxim Zakomoldin: J♦9♦
Wilhelm Isaak: K♣K♠
Zakomoldin's top pair was crushed versus Isaak's overpair, and there was no escape on the 8♠8♥ runout.
"Nice hand, thank you gentlemen", said the amiable Zakomoldin as the dealer shipped his chips to Isaak.
