Alessi Bluff Catches to Take Chunky Pot
Level 12
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Mauro Alessi opened to 8,000 from early position, and received calls from Sylvere Paillot on the button and the small blind.
Alessi continued with a bet of 9,000 on the K♣5♥3♣ flop when the small blind checked, and Paillot responded with a raise to 27,500. The small blind folded, but Alessi called.
The 8♠ hit on the turn, and Alessi check-called a bet of 20,000 from Paillot.
The 10♥ river completed the board, and Alessi checked once more. Paillot fired out a bet of 65,000, leaving himself only 10,000 behind, and Alessi quickly called.
Paillot had A♠Q♣ for air, and Alessi's decision was easy by the river with K♥10♠ for top two pair.
