Cohen Triples; Horgan Doubles

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Justin Cohen had lost some of his chips and then got it in preflop to get called two ways. Among those was Colin Horgan, who bet the Q85 flop for 12,000 to earn a call. Horgan jammed the 7 turn and was snapped off.

Justin Cohen: AA All in
Colin Horgan: KQ All in
Bigger Stack: 66

Horgan was shocked to get called by worse but needed to dodge outs for the straight. He did so with the J to double in the side pot while Cohen tripled up.

Blom Out and Back In With a Bad Beat Story to Tell

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Wesley Blom
Wesley Blom

Wesley Blom from under the gun clashed with Max Deveson in the big blind and they got the chips in after the K75J turn. Blom's AA needed help as Deveson had that beat holding the KJ and the 4 river was a blank.

The table was short handed after Deveson had apparently cleaned up, and he also won the next hand by three-betting an open raise by Diane Walker. She folded and was shown the K. "What's the other card?" Walker asked and Deveson replied "also a king" without showing.

Blom re-entered to table 11 that itself also had lost several players.

Cohen Sends Cazemier Packing

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Janno Cazemier
Janno Cazemier

"I needed that one, now you have something to write about," Justin Cohen joked. He had a minor heart attack when Keenan Pienaar joked that there was a straight on the board but that didn't actually happen.

Long story short, Janno Cazemier got it in with KJ which flopped a flush draw on 1075 and was up against QQ. The 7 turn and 9 river bricked off and Cohen raked in the pot.

Kossew On a Massive Stack

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Joe Rahme
Joe Rahme

The hero earlier on, Joe Rahme has lost a massive pot to Jedd Kossew who stormed to the top of the leaderboard by quite some margin at the end of the first level after dinner.

It was the most classic of setups with the KK for Rahme and the AA of Kossew that got the chips into the middle. The board ran out 76243 and that spelled the end for Rahme. Kossew also won the next much smaller pot without showdown against Jon Persent to build his stack further.

De Nysschen Scores a Double

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The cards were all but rushed away and the pot was shipped to Jacobus de Nysschen in the big blind. His 76 had flopped the bottom end of the straight on the 1098 flop and held against Stefan Bittger, who went into the showdown with Q10 for top pair and a gutshot to the superior straight.

Earlier today, de Nysschen had mentioned that he had chipped up several times only to "get knocked back down".

Blom Jams Into Deveson

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Max Deveson opened to 3,000 and earned two callers including Wesley Blom in the next seat. On the A55 flop, Deveson bet 3,000 when checked to and Blom was the only caller. That led to the J turn on which Deveson checked, Blom moved all-in and forced a quick fold.

The turned nut straight had locked up the double already ahead of the J river. Van Huyssteen was left with fumes and busted shortly thereafter.
