Murcia Busts Language; Battles With Jacobs

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Remy Murcia
Remy Murcia

Before he started the hand, Remy Murcia promised to put his watch into play and then three-bet to 10,000 from the small blind following a raise by Lissa Szymonowicz and a call by Mariette Language. "Ten thousand and the watch," he said and took it off the wrist, placed it next to the raising chips.

They headed to the 987 flop on which Murcia checked. Language moved all-in and Murcia snap-called.

Mariette Language: 107 All in
Remy Murcia: KK

"You have a lot of equity ... oh no, my watch," Murcia said. The Q turn and 9 river were blanks and Language was eliminated.

One hand later, Murcia battled with Aidan Jacobs, who led the K1026 turn for 25,000. "Oh wow ... okay," Murcia said and then called. The 9 fell on the river and Jacobs instantly moved all-in.

Murcia asked for a count and the shove was for more than 80,000.

"Not the Spiderman, I love him too much," Jacobs grimaced. Murcia used three time banks and folded, Jacobs showed the 10.

"Come on, show me the other one, show the bluff," Murcia replied and mentioned during the chat after he had folded king-queen for top pair.

Nicolette Ramos

Jacobus de Nysschen raised to 1,800 and then called the all-in of Nicolette Ramos for 4,800 in the small blind.

Nicolette Ramos: A7
Jacobus de Nysschen: A5

The J55 flop left Ramos in dire shape and needing a heart. No help came with the 10 turn but the 3 river saved Ramos.

In the next hand, Ronit Chamani made it 1,800 to go and she called the shove by Bradley Moore for 9,100.

Bradley Moore: A9 All in
Ronit Chamani: AJ

The 1010756 board ensured that the kicker played and Moore quickly departed the tournament area.

Ng Back Above the Starting Stack

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

On a heads-up turn of A848, Leesha Hira checked and David Ng pushed all-in with a shorter stack from one seat over.

"How much is it?" Hira asked and the all-in of Ng was for 14,100. Without using a time bank, she tossed the cards into the muck and exposed the A. Ng returned the favour and showed his 98 for trips eights and a flush draw.

An Update on the Jacobs

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Aidan Jacobs
Aidan Jacobs

Barend Jacobs had doubled in the first half an hour of play and his son Aidan Jacobs saw the outcome from up close one table over. Since then, their paths have however taken different directions and the son was moved to a different table, where he started to rack up a serious stack.

In a big pot to the J628K, he had the best of it with JJ for a flopped set of jacks and his opponent "improved" to two pair with the river, bowing out with the KJ.

Gothey Gets the Chips of Van Huyssteen

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Muzamil Gothey
Muzamil Gothey

Three ways to the 873 flop, Lauren Piha checked and Muzamil Gothey bet 5,500 into around 8,000 out of the hijack. Braam van Huyssteen then raised to 15,500 on the button and Piha folded, Gothey called. Both checked the 6 turn and Gothey also checked the K on the river.

Van Huyssteen now jammed and the Tanzanian asked for a count. The shove was for 27,100 and Gothey called within fifteen seconds. He was shown the 65 for a busted straight draw on the flop that had turned a pair of sixes. Gothey had that beat with the QQ and earned a healthy boost to his stack.

Big Fold by Morais

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

In a heads-up pot to the Ax10x7xKx turn, Carlos Morais tangled with an opponent and eventually faced the shove to go deep into the tank. "I want to show," the other player said and Morais eventually laid down his cards. The other player revealed AK for the turned top two pair and Morais grabbed to the muck, showed his A10 for flopped two pair.

Gamsy Flips Fourie to the Rail

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Adam Gamsy
Adam Gamsy

Adam Gamsy raised to 1,600 and found one caller in Beat Schlegel. Rudolf Fourie then announced all-in for around 20,000 out of the blinds and Gamsy called, Schlegel folded.

"Show me ace-king," Fourie said and Gamsy turned over the 99. Fourie flipped with the Q10 but didn't find any help on the 55348 runout. When he stood up from the chair, a T-1,000 chip fell from under his iPad and he tossed it to Gamsy.
