Three ways to the K♥J♦9♣ flop, it checked to Sheldon Grove and the current chip leader bet 2,200. Minesh Keshav called from the next seat, the third player in the hand folded. Grove slowed down and checked the 4♦ turn. Keshav bet 4,600 and took down the pot.

Keshav briefly flashed his cards for what appeared to be ace-king. "I had an ace as well," Grove told his table neighbour.

On a three-way flop of 9♣5♠3♣, Cliton Taliwanth had bet and then jammed over the top of a raise by table chip leader Wesley Blom while Vygandas Simuntis got out of the way. Blom called and they turned them over.

The 10♠ turn and J♥ river gave Taliwanth the bottom end of the straight for a double worth 27,700. Simuntis needed a while to figure out what had won the pot, while Blom was slightly annoyed by the "luckbox" next to him.

Abbas Murji got his shorter stack in the middle preflop and Derrick Steenkamp didn't ask for a count but instead placed a single chip for the call once he made sure it was heads-up at that stage.

Picking up the action on the K♠9♦4♥ flop, Wesley Blom bet 2,000 and Reneka Dayaljee called. Vygandas Simuntis raised to 5,000 and earned two calls. Simuntis then led the 5♥ turn for 13,000 and Blom joked he would have called a bet worth 12,700.

Dayaljee moved all-in thereafter and Simuntis folded the K♣Q♦ face-up after very brief consideration. Dayaljee showed her 4♦4♠ for a flopped set and added "gotta see a flop".

Just before the blinds went up, Sheldon Grove had a raise to 3,000 out in front and then folded when Menesh Keshav pushed all-in for slightly more than the starting stack, Okkie Fourie also folded as well.

One hand later, Grove limped and so did another three players. Shawn Smith in the small blind made it 2,500 to go and earned no fewer than four callers. Five ways to the K♠8♣8♥ flop, everyone checked and it was Grove who bet the 4♦ turn for 3,500. Keshav raised to 11,000 and forced out all opponents.
