Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Jedd Kossew
Jedd Kossew

In an already larger pot, Panayiotis Giannakopoulos check-called the J1086 turn for 28,500 and then checked the 5 river. Fellow big stack Jedd Kossew bet 56,000 and Giannakopoulos went into the tank. He used two time banks and then called, but quickly mucked upon being shown KK for an overpair by Kossew.

Quick Exit and Re-Entry for SM

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

The "official runner-up" but earner of the biggest cash prize during the last SPT stop here in Pretoria was in for a short time only on the first bullet before he ran into pocket aces. However, SM re-entered soon after and Rudolf Fourie also jumped back in as well.

The field has now reached 67 entries to surpass the attendance of Day 1a.

Pfister Flipped Out by Poonhath

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Elaine Pfister
Elaine Pfister

Elaine Pfister got her recently shrinking stack in with the AQ and had a classic flip against Rajeev Poonhath with the JJ.

The A76 flop improved Pfister to the top pair and she remained ahead on the 6 turn. However, the twist in the story followed with the J river as Poonhath spiked the two outer.

"That was nice," he grinned in table chat while Pfister asked back "what was nice?" albeit with a smirk on the face.

Giannakopoulos Out But Can Celebrate Anyways

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Panayiotis Giannakopoulos
Panayiotis Giannakopoulos

Former chip leader Panayiotis Giannakopoulos was seen on his way to the rail but he had reason to celebrate soon after, as his father Costa Giannakopoulos won the ZAR50,000 High Roller in heads-up against Gavin Sardini.

On Giannakopoulos' former table, Rudolf Fourie jammed a three-way flop of 1095 for 39,700. Jamie Vilela reluctantly folded and later showed a nine while Stephen Courtney also let go.

The next table over saw a flop of 986J on which Cliton Taliwanth in the big blind jammed for just 9,700. Kinesh Pather reluctantly folded and both showed a seven first. Taliwanth ended up revealing his 75 for the flopped straight while Pather mucked Q7.

Kinesh Pather checked the 932 flop and Anjan Mulji bet 4,200. Pather made it another 4,200 to go on top for Mulji to call.

The 5 turn saw Pather lead for 8,500 and Mulji called after using one time bank. Heads-up to the K river, Pather now bet another 20,000. Mulji mulled it over for a short while and eventually called, but couldn't beat the AA of Pather.
