MAJ Traps Kalil for a Double
Level 25
: Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Gareth Kalil opened to 155,000 from under the gun with the A♣Q♣ and MAJ just called in the big blind with A♥A♦. The K♥Q♠3♠ flop was checked by MAJ and Kalil checked back. On the 9♦ turn, MAJ set the trap further and checked again. Kalil bet 475,000 and then called the shove by MAJ for 720,000 total within a fraction of a second.
The ultimate deception worked out perfectly for MAJ and he held on for the double with the 7♦ river.
