Corront Out During the Dinner Break

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Merwan Corront
Merwan Corront

All tables were empty already but one as "SM" and Merwan Corront tangled in a larger pot to the 62210 turn. Some 95,000 were in the middle and SM moved all-in with the slightly covering stack. Corront had around 60,000 behind and went deep into the tank, investing multiple time bank extensions while actively chatting with his opponent.

"Can you beat a six?" SM eventually asked and Corront needed another minute before he called.

Merwan Corront: AJ All in
SM: Q10

No ace or jack but the 3 fell on the river and Corront was eliminated - seven minutes into the ongoing dinner break.

Another Four-Way Showdown Underway

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Nic Ioannoy
Nic Ioannoy

"NT" was all-in preflop from the hijack, Nic Ioannoy did so from the cutoff for 45,500 before Ahmed Karrim in the small blind looked them all up with the superior stack. The big blind also called all-in for fewer chips.

Big Blind: A10 All in
Nic Ioannoy: 75 All in
"NT": KQ All in
Ahmed Karrim: A5

The 98286 runout gave Ioannoy a straight and the big blind was eliminated. "NT" lost the side pot to Karrim and then won the blind flip satellite to jump back into the action.

May the Flipping Commence

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Local regular Nadeem aka "NT" promised to flip it in the first hand after joining table seven and did so after a raise to 4,000 by Ahmed Karrim, a call by Nick Sissou on the button and the call of Nic Ioannoy in the small blind.

Before his turn to act, he had peeked at his cards high for the rail and joked "it is also my birthday". The shove was then for 38,500 and Karrim called, Sissou called all-in for fewer and Ioannoy also came along to make it a four-way pot.

On the QJ8 flop, Ioannoy jammed and Karrim folded.

NT: 74 All in
Nick Sissou: 97 All in
Nic Ioannoy: 83

The 10 turn and Q river gave Sissou a quadruple up while NT busted. He then re-entered and got it in the very next hand with QJ against the Q10 of Ioannoy. On a board of Q1036J, NT binked the superior two pair on the river.

Gani Gone in Cruel Fashion

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

"SM" joked towards Muaaz Gani that he wanted him to hit a king when they got the chips in preflop. That's exactly what happened when Gani was all-in with the KK and SM only had the AQ. The KJ4 flop provided the top set, but the 3 turn and 10 river gave SM broadway.

Sissou Out After Clash With Sun

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Peter Sissou
Peter Sissou

In a preflop raising war, Huawei Sun in the cutoff made it 65,600 total to go. Peter Sissou was his only opponent in the small blind and had 25,600 invested by then. Once Sissou confirmed the amount of Sun's reraise, he declared the call and they headed to the 742 flop. Sissou moved all-in and Sun snap-called.

Peter Sissou: JJ

The clash of pocket pairs kept Sun ahead with the 8 turn and 10 river. He counted the own stack and secured a double for 37,300, Sissou was left with just 8,300 and lost those few chips right after.

Okkie Fourie
Okkie Fourie

Okkie Fourie raised to 3,400 from under the gun and David Ng called in the small blind. Jon Per Persent was down to just 7,800 in the big blind and jammed, Fourie then reraised to force out Ng.

Okkie Fourie: KK

The one over card never came on the Q9572 board to spell the end for Persent. "See you later guys," the Norwegian promised.

Sissou Triples While Zhang Busts

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Nick Sissou
Nick Sissou

Three ways to the 1092 flop, Nick Sissou was all-in out of the small blind and earned calls from Ahmed Karrim in the hijack as well as Tony Zhang on the button. Karrim bet the 6 turn for 19,000 and Zhang called for nearly two thirds of his remaining stack.

That led them to the Q river on which Karrim bet another 10,000. Zhang was covered by that and called all-in to get shown 99 for a set by Karrim. Zhang knuckled the table in defeat and mucked his cards but Sissou showed his J6 for a rivered flush to triple up in the main pot.

One Hundred Persent For the Knockout

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jon Per Persent
Jon Per Persent

Sugen Singh had folded in a multi-way pot claiming to have let go of pocket jacks on a ten-high board with flush draw. That hand saw Adam Woolf double with 99 for a set of nines to leave Okkie Fourie short.

One hand later, Muaaz Gani raised to 2,200 and Singh jammed for around 13,000 only in the hijack. Jon Per Persent called on the button and Gani quickly folded, joking "he always has it".

Sugen Singh: A10 All in
Jon Per Persent: KK

Singh picked up some outs on the 876 flop but the Q turn as well as 4 river were both bricks.

Alvin and the Chipmunks

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

A preflop raising war brought the chips of Bernard Gossard into the middle and he was looked up by Alvin Pillay, while Nick Sissou and Sugen Singh sent their cards into the muck.

Bernard Gossard: AJ All in
Alvin Pillay: QQ

The door card was an ace but the flop came AQ3 to give Pillay a set. Some chop outs came with the 8 turn but the K river sent Gossard to the rail.
