Rush Hour for Steenkamp
Level 17
: Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Dirk Steenkamp has experienced his usual roller coaster ride throughout the entire tournament day and just notched up two eliminations in a row.
In the first hand, his 6♦2♥ out of the big blind hit a full house on the A♣2♠2♣6♣6♥ board to beat an opponent with the A♠8♣.
He then had the K♥5♥ in the small blind and got it in against Calvin Ferreira on the J♥4♥4♣ flop. Ferreira was down to around 60,000 and jammed the A♠Q♠. The 7♥ turn left Ferreira drawing dead to make the K♣ river a formality.
Another table broke and Lissa Szymonowicz ran out of chips to become the next casualty.
