Matt Berkey Eliminated in 5th Place ($1,100,000)

Level 21 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante
Matthew Berkey - 5th Place
Matthew Berkey - 5th Place

Matt Berkey limped from the button, and Rainer Kempe made it 205,000 on his left. Berkey came back with an all-in shove for 1.3 million, and Kempe called.

Kempe: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Berkey: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

The sweat looked like it would be a short one as the {4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop gave Kempe a set, but the {8-Spades} turn opened up runner-runner possibilities. A {4-Diamonds} river improved Kempe to a boat though, and Berkey was done in fifth.

Bryn Kenney Eliminated in 6th Place ($800,000)

Level 21 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Bryn Kenney open-jammed the button for 1.3 million and Fedor Holz called from the small blind.

Kenney had a pair, but his {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} was well behind Holz' {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. Kenney turned a gutshot on the {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} board, but the {8-Diamonds} was no good and he was eliminated in sixth, as Holz climbed up to second on the leader board.

Berkey Doubles Through Kenney

Level 21 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante
Matthew Berkey
Matthew Berkey

Matt Berkey defended his big blind from a raise to 135,000 from Bryn Kenney, who was second to act preflop. The flop came {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and Berkey checked. Kenney bet 145,000 and then snap-called when Berkey moved in for 695,000.

Berkey: {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Kenney: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Berkey's club draw got there right away on the {6-Clubs} turn, and the {5-Spades} fell on the river.

Seidel Gets Active

Level 21 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Erik Seidel currently sits at the bottom of the leader board, but he's doing everything he can to get out of the cellar.

First, he open-shoved under the gun and picked up the blinds and antes. Then, after folding his big blind to a Bryn Kenney raise, he shoved the small blind over the top of a Fedor Holz open to 140,000 on the button.

Holz folded and Seidel continued to tread water, now on

Berkey Uses a Time Extension Preflop

Level 21 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Action folded to Matt Berkey on the button, and he tanked awhile, counting his stack in the process. Eventually, he threw a time extension in and then decided to just limp in for 60,000. Rainer Kempe completed the blind, and Bryn Kenney checked. Action checked to Berkey on the {6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop, and he moved all in, getting two quick folds.

Dan Shak Eliminated in 7th Place ($600,000)

Level 21 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

One hand after he and Phil Hellmuth lost a pot to chip leader Rainer Kempe, shaking things up on the leader board once again, Dan Shak got his last 530,000 in the middle over the top of a Fedor Holz 140,000-chip open.

Holz made what appeared to be a reluctant call with the {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and was actually ahead of Shak's {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

Holz held the lead through the {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades} board to the turn, and even thought the {j-Diamonds} river made Shak a pair, it wasn't the pair he wanted. Holz made a straight to take the pot and eliminate Shak from the 2016 Super High Roller Bowl in seventh place.

Hellmuth Climbs The Counts

Level 20 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Dan Shak made it 150,000 and Phil Hellmuth called in position. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Shak continued for 200,000.

Hellmuth almost beat him to the pot pushing all in for 775,000 more and Shak made the call.

It was Hellmuth on the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Shak holding the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The turn came the {k-Hearts}, giving Hellmuth a set, but Shak still had four outs to a straight. The {4-Spades} river wasn't one of them, however, and as Hellmuth suddenly moved into second on the leader board, Shak fell near the bottom.
