Koplimaa Soaring

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Markku Koplimaa
Markku Koplimaa

Amir Ben Said opened from the hijack before Antti Karkkainen three-bet from the cutoff. We caught up with the hand when Markku Koplimaa four-bet to 18,600. Said folded and Karkkainen called.

Koplimaa bet out for 12,200 after the {9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} came on the flop and got a call. He then tanked for a minute after the {q-Spades} came on the turn before he jammed for 44,600. Karkkainen made the call and saw he had kicker problems holding {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} to Koplimaa's {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

The {8-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Koplimaa found a double up.

Sootla Celebrates Heeringas' Hold

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Rain Heeringas opened from middle position to 3,500 before Olafs Karlins three-bet to around 10,000 from one seat over. The action folded back to Heeringas who four-bet jammed to 23,600 and got a quick call from Karlins.

Rain Heeringas: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Olafs Karlins: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Ranno Sootla, who was at the same table, shouted: "Hold!"

"No!" shouted Sootla as his friend was now behind when Karlins nailed a set on the {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop.

Emotions turned the other way after the {j-Hearts} came on the turn with Sootla shouting: "Yes!"

The rollercoaster of a hand was over with Karlins unable to improve to quads as the {4-Spades} completed the board on the river.

While Sootla was emotional, both Karlins and Heeringas appeared to take the hand in stride.

Davey with a Six

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Daragh Davey is quietly getting it done while listening to some tunes on a somewhat rowdy table including Jussi Mattila and Mathias Siljander.

Davey opened up to 3,600 from the cutoff before Siljander three-bet to 15,000 from the small blind. The action folded back to Davey who four-bet jammed for 110,000.

Siljander asked for a count before he decided it was too much. He shared he had a good hand before he tossed it away.

Davey decided to show one card and it wasn't the biggest in the deck with the {6-Clubs} getting exposed before the dealer collected his cards.

Koplimaa Over 200K

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Markku Koplimaa
Markku Koplimaa

It's been a great start of the day for Markku Koplimaa who has won pot after pot. In a recent hand, he called a bet of 19,000 from Andres Loiv with about 30,000 in the pot with the {3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs} on the board.

Both players checked after the {j-Diamonds} came on the river. Loiv turned over {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} after missing his flush draw but rivering a pair. His pair wasn't good enough as Koplimaa took down the pot with a better pair after turning over {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Limonova Back in Business

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Kelly Limonova
Kelly Limonova

Kelly Limonova is an Estonian but this tournament isn't exactly local as she has lived in Barcelona for a number of years. She is back home to both play in the Tallinn Summer Showdown and to visit some family and friends during the nice weather of the Estonian summer.

She just won a huge pot. Meelis Meliste four-bet jammed to 25,500 and got calls from Sami Pulliainen and Limonova.

Pulliainen and Limonova both checked after the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{a-Clubs} came on the flop before Pulliainen check-called a bet of 10,000 after the {2-Diamonds} came on the turn. Pulliainen checked after the {3-Hearts} completed the board on the river before he folded when Limonova jammed.

Limonova turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for a full house and her opponent quickly left the table. Before the cards were shuffled, Limonova asked to see what Meliste had and the table learned it was {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

Sey Eliminates Pullianen

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Sami Pulliainen
Sami Pulliainen

Sami Pulliainen had all his chips at risk with {a-}{k-} against Hassan Sey who had slightly more chips with {10-}{10-}.

It was looking good for Pulliainen to double up after the {a-} came on the flop. However, the {10-} came on the turn to give Sey the checkmark and Pullianen was the tournament's latest casualty.
