Welcome to Day 1c of the GGPoker £560 United Kingdom Poker Championship Main Event here in Nottingham at Dusk Till Dawn poker club.

Cards go in the air from 12 p.m. local time as players will have their last chance to join the 74 survivors from Day 1a and 1b, along with the survivors from the online flights. This tournament offers a huge £500,000 prizepool guarantee and players will start with 200,000 chips.

Blinds will start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante and blinds will increase every 30-minutes. Late Registration will remain open until Level 9 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Players will also be given five 20-second time bank cards at the start of the day. Players are allowed one reentry per flight.

Yesterday Duncan McLellan bagged biggest with 3,650,000. He will be joined by Day 1a chip leader Leslie Packer in Day 2, who ended Friday with 4,455,000, as well as poker professional Andrew Wilson who bagged 3,384,380 in the online flight. GGPoker ambassador Lukas Robinson also managed to bag yesterday but will return to Day 2 with just over 10 big blinds.

Play will continue until 15% of the field remain, in which those who survive will secure a place in Day 2 and will be in the money. Stay tuned to PokerNews to follow all the action until a winner is crowned on Monday 16th January.

Jansco Wins Early Pot

It was a blind vs blind battle between Christopher Johnson in the small blind and Mihaly Jansco in the big blind.

The board read {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and there was around 20,000 in the pot. Johnson checked to Jansco. Jansco bet 7,500. Johnson went into the tank, using a time bank card, before folding as the chips went to Jansco.

Sapiano Eliminated Early

Albert Sapiano limped from under the gun before Natalia Breviglieri raised to 3,500 from early position. Khadir Khoshawy called on the button and Sapiano called.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Sapiano moved all in for 6,500. Breviglieri called and Khoshawy folded.

Sapiano has two pair but was in rough shape as Breviglieri had flopped trips. The turn came the {q-Spades} and the river the {q-Diamonds} to ensure Sapiano would be having an early bath.

Action was three ways to a flop. Catalin Zamfir was in early position against Eugen Margarit in the hijack and Fraser Robbins in the big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} with 10,000 in the pot. Zamfir bet 3,500 when checked to and only Robbins called.

Action checked through on the {8-Clubs} turn.

The river came the {6-Spades} and Robbins bet 5,000. Zamfir quickly called. Robbins turned over {a-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a straight which beat Zamfir's set of eights {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

The board read {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Herbert check called the 10,500 bet from Wan.

The river came the {2-Diamonds} and Herbert checked. Wan fired 15,000 and Herbert pondered before making the call. Wan showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for the overpair to take down the pot as Herbert mucked.

The {j-Clubs} was the turn and Sapiano led for 35,000. Hay called.

The river came the {j-Hearts} and Sapiano checked. Hay bet 35,000 and Sapiano moved all-in. Hay snap called. Sapiano turned over {a-Spades}{5-Spades} which chopped with Hay's {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} as Sapiano had rivered a full house to survive.

Sapiano, already on his second bullet, said "I just want to survive until five o'clock".
