Lissa Szymonowicz and Corne Schalkwyk were all-in preflop, looked up by the bigger-stacked Greg Mokgoathleng and Marko Nortje.
Mokgoathleng check-called thje J♣7♠3♥ flop for 25,000 before the two active players checked down the 2♦ turn and 9♠ river. Schalkwyk showed A♦K♠ and Szymonowicz revealed K♥8♣. Mokgoathleng had both beat with the A♣J♠ and Nortje slowly mucked his cards one after the other.
Day 1b will play down to the last 13 contenders who all reach the money stages. The most recent level had brought with it several casualties and some of those who busted prior are also included in the following list as well.
The Hendon Mob qualifier Colin Horgan jammed a short stack with A♣6♦ and was called by Jaco Mouton in the next seat on the button with the A♠6♠.
Mouton freerolled the Q♦8♠5♣ flop but the A♥ turn and 4♣ river ensured the split pot.
Horgan was at risk the next hand with K♦Q♥ against Didier Mery with the A♣Q♦. There was some equity to be had on the J♠9♦5♣ flop for the Irishman but he bricked the 7♣J♦ runout.
Maxwell Young had late-registered at the last minute and ran up a stack only for it to come crushing down in a big pot against Bernard Gossard. The A♦5♥ of Young were up against K♦10♦.
On a board of J♦6♦5♣9♦5♠, Gossard turned a flush and the trips of Young on the river were meaningless. He had crumbs left and lost those the next hand against Adam Gamsy.
On a heads-up flop of Q♠J♣9♦, Stefan Bittger checked and then faced a bet of 5,000 by Jaryd Jardien. The German opted to fold and Jardien exclaimed "you don't believe me that I have it all the time?" before flashing queen-jack suited for top two pair.
Bittger replied "I had this" and grabbed into his cards near the muck, exposing the K♦ for a gutshot.

On the tail end of a heads-up pot to the J♥4♠2♥8♠Q♦ river, Ashley Hira bet 15,000 for half of his stack. Michael Franken called and showed A♥5♥ for ace-high, having missed the wheel and nut flush draw. Hira sighed, exposed the 7♦5♣ and dropped to a short stack.
Hira then moved all-in blind without checking his cards. Franken called on the button, everyone else folded.

Despite not having seen his cards and only flipping them over one by one for the showdown, it was best case scenario with a classic flip for Hira. He picked up a ton of outs until the Q♥9♦3♠8♦ turn but the 7♥ river was not among them.
Stefan Bittger raised to 4,000 and called a three-bet to 13,000 by Beat Schlegel, who then continued for 6,000 on the A♥J♠3♦ flop. Bittger came along and they checked the K♠ turn. Bittger bet the 9♦ river and Schlegel sighed, folded the Q♦Q♠ face-up.
A short stacked late entrant three-bet jammed with the 6♦5♦ and was called by Michael Franken with the K♠J♠.
The 9♣8♠7♠ flop gave the player at risk the bottom end of the straight but the 10♥ turn secured Franken at least half the pot with the jack-high stack. Only a jack would result in a split pot, but the 2♥ river brought no upset.
Renier Britz jammed all-in for 18,500 and was called by Mariette Language on the button as well as KM in the small blind. KM check-folded to a bet by Language on the 10♥5♠3♥ flop.

"I folded queen-jack of hearts," KM said. He is currently multi-tabling as he also entered the Single Day High Roller late on.
