Day 1b of Event #9: 750K GTD NLH has come and gone after 8 hours of play here in Round Rock. The second flight attracted 83 entries, which played down to just twelve players (12%) at the end of the night

Bagging up at the top of the heap was Benjamin Anderson who finished with 592,000 as he took the sword to several players late to shrink the field, including slicing the bubble when he eliminated Peter Fellows as the bubble boy on the final hand of the night.

On his heels in second place was Vy Nguyen who bagged 535,000. He also would eliminate many players in the final levels as he and Anderson lapped the field, combining for almost 40% of the chips between just the two of them.

Michael Khatibi was the best of the rest as he finished in third with 363,000, Alejandro Madrigal was in fourth with 341,000 and Mahesh Rathi rounded out the top five with 258,000 as he is looking to add to what has already been a successful Lodge Championship Series for him.

Another notable player to bag was Denise Pratt who finished with 164,000, which was good for sixth in chips.

Two of the happiest players, when the bubble burst and bag their chips, were, Jesse Crenan with 159,000 and Victoria Luna with a short stack of 79,000 as she wrote “The drought is over” on her chip bag, indicating the end of a long stretch without cashing in the series.

The twelve players will move on to Day 2, on Wednesday and join all the other advancing players from the upcoming five flights.

PokerNews will continue with coverage of Days 1c and 1d tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 5 a.m.
