Himmelbrand Reads it Right, But Only Gets a Chop
Level 6
: 300/600, 600 ante
Gregory Himmelbrand raised to 2,500 over a preflop limp. He found callers in three other players, including James Galloway on the button.
The flop showed and Himmelbrand bet 3,500 and both Galloway and one other player called.
The turn paired the top card when the arrived. Action now checked to Galloway who took control of the pot with a bet of 6,000. Only Himmelbrand called after some thought.
The river hit and Himmelbrand once more checked to Galloway who bet 11,300. Himmelbrand thought hard before tossing in the call.
"Ace high," said Galloway, expecting to lose the pot before showing . To his surprise, Himmelbrand flipped over for the bluff-catcher that earned him a chopped pot.
