Liu's Boat Ships Ye Out
Level 16
: Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Qiaonan Liu opened to 16,000 from under the gun and Wei Ye shoved for 170,000 total from the cutoff. It was folded back to Liu, who verified the amount and tanked a bit, but eventually stuck in a call having Ye covered.
Wei Ye: K♣Q♣
Qiaonan Liu: 8♦8♥
It was a coin flip, but the 8♣4♣4♥ flop immediately put a huge damper on Ye's tournament life.
The 9♣ turn left Ye drawing dead and a meaningless 10♦ completed the board the make Liu's knockout official.
