TLPT Caps Off with $25,000 8-Handed Super High Roller
As The Lord Poker Tour (TLPT) begins to wind down, the final event of the Super High Roller Series is about to begin with Event #12: $25,000 8-Handed. Inside the Landing Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World Resort in Jeju, South Korea, some high-stakes players from around the world will take to the felt to fight for a guaranteed prizepool of $500,000.
Earlier today, Event #11: $20,000 8-Handed resumed on Day 2 and will be playing down to a winner. As players are eliminated, they are expected to jump ship into the final event of the series in hopes of claiming the last title. Some players that are expected to join the field include Main Event champion Stephen Song, runner-up James Mendoza, Dan Cates, Taylor Black, and TLPT co-founders Quan Zhou and Ivan Zhang.
The cards are scheduled to go in the air at 3 p.m. local time today with 12 levels on tap for Day 1 and the winner being crowned on Day 2 tomorrow. Each player will begin with a starting stack of 200,000 chips with the blinds starting at 500/1,000 and a 1,000 big blind ante. The levels will be 45 minutes in length throughout the event with a 15-minute break after every two levels and a 45-minute dinner break after level four.
Late registration will remain open for 10 levels with an unlimited number of entries permitted for each player. The shot clock will be in play from the start and players will have 30 seconds to act on each street. They will be given nine time bank cards and an additional five will be given out at the final table.
