Alexander Lays Down Overpair

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante
Matt Alexander laid down QQ on a jack-high board.
Matt Alexander laid down QQ on a jack-high board.

After a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, an under-the-gun Matt Alexander had a wager of 2,000 in front of him. Frank Bravata, in the big blind, raised to 5,000, and Alexander thought for a bit before calling. The {j-Diamonds} turn paired the board, and Bravata bet 5,000 more.

"That's a pretty bad card," Alexander said before tossing {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} face up into the middle.

Alexander, who was unable to get anything going at last week's season-opening Mid-States Poker Tour Running Aces Harness Park event, appears to be off to another rough start here at the second tour stop.
