Morris Spikes One-Outer to Eliminate Two

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Shawn Schoreck opened for 3,700, and a player in middle position made it 8,000. The next player jammed for 17,300, and action folded to Lynn Morris, who called in the small blind. Schoreck folded, the first reraiser shoved for a few thousand more, and Morris again called.

Morris: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Three-bettor: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Third player: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Gasps came from around the table as the flop came {8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, giving Morris his one-outer. The {2-Clubs} and {10-Hearts} completed the board, and Morris dragged the huge pot at the expense of the two players he had covered. Schoreck, meanwhile, said he folded {a-}{j-}, which would have made the nuts.

Kessler Wins a Flip

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Allen Kessler just won a race with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} against an opponent who held {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} when the board came {5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Kessler had his opponent covered by just 400, so he collected all of the player's chips.

Green Gets Away from AA

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Arthur Saucier check-called 4,500 from Larry Green on a flop of {9-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Both players checked the {4-Spades} turn, and the {10-Clubs} river completed a four-straight. Saucier pushed all in for 24,900, and Green tanked for about three minutes before mucking {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} face up. Saucier showed him {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} for the nut straight.

Vang Crushes Shorty

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Kou Vang had his opponent dominated.
Kou Vang had his opponent dominated.

Kou Vang opened for 2,600 in middle position and got two callers. The player on the button shoved for 17,500, and Vang reraised to knock out the players behind him.

Vang: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Button: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

"Sorry, that's a terrible flop for you," the player on the button predicted.

Sure enough, the {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop gave the button a straight draw.

"An even worse turn," he said excitedly after the dealer burned and turned the {9-Clubs}, which meant the pot would be split if the board paired again.

An {a-Clubs} river meant Vang had the winning two pair, though.

"Chop it up," the player on the button joked as he got out of his seat.

Coolered Alexander Finds an Out

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Matt Alexander got there on the end.
Matt Alexander got there on the end.

With the community reading {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}, a player bet 2,000 into Matt Alexander, who raised to 4,500. A few more raises later, the two were all in for Alexander's 19,800.

Alexander: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Alexander's recent run of poor luck seemed to be continuing, as his trip tens were no good. He managed to spike the {k-Spades} on the river for a flush though, and he doubled up while leaving his opponent crippled.

At another table, Renee Kessel moved all in for 9,100 over Arthur Saucier's limp, and Saucier made the call with {k-}{j-}. Kessel had him dominated with {a-}{k-}, but Saucier flopped two pair to knock her out.
