Day 1a Started
Day 1a of 2014 Mid-States Poker Tour Majestic Star is set to kick off here at 4 p.m. local time in Gary, Ind.
Today marks the MSPT's second stop at Majestic Star this year. Back in early March, Ken Baime defeated a field of 301 to pocket $77,681 and a shiny new trophy when the MSPT first came here. The Day 2 field included heavy hitters such as Jason Smith, Matt Alexander, Matt Kirby, John Hayes, and Kou Vang. Hopefully, we see all of those familiar faces and more.
All players will begin with 20,000 in chips today, with blinds beginning at 50/100 under the Allen Kessler-approved structure that's been adopted by the tour since its first stop here. Levels will last 40 minutes, with breaks given every three levels. The plan for today is to play 14 levels, and each player is allowed one reentry per starting day should things go awry during the first nine levels.
Stay tuned to PokerNews as we bring you all of the live action.
