Second Time's the Charm for Harris Against Ring

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Ironically, Lance Harris ended up with all of Terry Ring's chips anyways after the former escaped extinction once due to a technicality. The two got it all in again a short time after the controversial pot, and Harris said his {a-}{10-} held up against the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} of Ring despite Ring holding a flush draw after the flop.

Lucky Flop for Keeline

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Ben Keeline has more than 200,000 now.
Ben Keeline has more than 200,000 now.

An early-position player made it 5,000 to go and Ben Keeline three-bet to 12,500 from his left. The early player called after the remaining players folded, and the two saw a {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{q-Clubs} flop heads up. Keeline bet just 7,600 after his opponent checked, and the player called, seeing a {10-Diamonds}. Two checks ensued, and action was the same on the {4-Diamonds} river.

The first player flipped {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}, but Keeline had flopped a three-outer with {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

Harris Gets Short End of Controversial Pot

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Terry Ring was allowed to survive due to a technicality.
Terry Ring was allowed to survive due to a technicality.

Just before break, a massive and controversial pot happened at Table 17.

Apparently, the flop had come {k-}{q-}{5-} and Terry Ring had bet 20,000. Lance Harris raised to 50,000, and Brian Zupancich went all in for just over 70,000.

"Alright, let's do it," Ring apparently said as he dropped some chips into the pot. Harris called, flipping {k-}{q-}, but Zupancich had the lead with {5-}{5-} for a set. Ring was in last with {a-}{a-}. Nobody improved on the last two streets, and Zupancich dragged the massive pot.

Harris collected what he presumed to be a side pot containing all of Ring's remaining chips, but Ring pointed out that he had never actually said all in. The floor was called, and the ruling was that since Ring never moved in, everyone had just called Zupancich's bet and Ring would retain his last 45,000. A disgusted Harris tossed the chips back into the middle, saying he thought Ring was all in and he was calling Ring's shove as well.

Alexander Bluffs Off to Zych

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Adam Zych and Matt Alexander each put 4,500 in on a board of {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, and the {k-Diamonds} completed the board. Zych checked, and Alexander put 10,500 in. Zych thought for about a minute before tossing in a call, and Alexander flipped {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a missed flush draw. Zych's {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for eights up took the pot.

Gonia Rockets to 315,000

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

David Gonia is sitting with by far the heftiest stack in the room after gathering up a monster pot. From the sound of things, someone picked a bad time to make a move, as a player commented that Gonia had been gifted 100,000.

"He just told himself he was winning that hand no matter what," someone said.

Harris Catches Overeager Shover

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Lance Harris

A player raised to 4,000 on the button and got three-bet to 11,800 by Lance Harris in the small blind. While the big blind considered his options, the player on the button shoved all in for about 40,000. The floor was called, and the big blind was allowed to continue his action, electing to fold. Since the all in was now binding, Harris quickly called.

Harris: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Button: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}

Harris had his opponent drawing slim on the {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. The {j-Diamonds} turn gave him some hope, but a {2-Diamonds} was a brick on the river.

The big blind was relieved, saying he folded {10-}{10-}.
