Day 1a Started
After a week off, the Mid-States Poker Tour will spark up another event at 4 p.m. local time here at Meskwaki Casino in Tama, Iowa.
The MSPT first came to Meskwaki in 2012, drawing a field of 349 players. Moon Ahmed claimed an $89,184 first prize, and the MSPT has kept rolling through here ever since, with six total events the past two years.
At the last stop here, Jesse Spooner banked $81,060 for topping a field of 296, including a final table that featured Jason Sell, who won the most recent MSPT event, at Ho-Chunk Gaming two weeks ago. Today's event features a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Fourteen levels are scheduled to be played today, with players starting with 20,000 in chips and blinds at 50/100. Breaks will be given every three levels, and players are allowed up to one reentry through the break after Level 9. Levels will last 40 minutes each.
Stay tuned all night long as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team brings you all the hands, chip counts, and action from Day 1a.
