Vang Doubles Through Bjerga

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Steve Vang limped under the gun and Ben Marsh followed suit. Ivan Bjerga made it 70,000 to go, and Vang moved in for 212,000 when it got back to him. Marsh got out of the way.

"I really think you slowplayed, but I have to call," Bjerga said.

Bjerga: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Vang: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Bjerga was right, and his two-outer became one after the {2-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Spades} flop. A {3-Hearts} and {q-Diamonds} finished out the hand.

Bjerga Leads Out

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Ervin Bjerga bet 40,000 on a {3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop and got raised by cutoff Ken Pates to 125,000. Bjerga called, and he came out betting again with 150,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn. Pates mucked quickly.

William Vincent - 7th Place
William Vincent - 7th Place

Dan Shogren raised to 103,000 in middle position and called the all-in shove of William Vincent, who had a stack of 204,000 in the small blind.

Shogren: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Vincent: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

"Sixes in seat 6," Vincent said. "It's gotta come."

A flop of {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts} brought little help.

"I'd take a five," Vincent said.

The dealer burned and turned the {8-Hearts}, bringing a few more outs for Vincent, though a heart wouldn't help now.

"Still take a five."

A {k-Spades} helped Shogren, though, and he took the pot with his set.

Marsh Takes from Pates

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Ken Pates bet out from the blinds on a {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop, and Ben Marsh called 47,000. On the {3-Diamonds} turn, Pates bet 95,000, and Marsh shoved all in. It was 369,000 total, but Pates elected to let it go.

Shogren Doubles Through Vang

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Dan Shogren shoved all in for his last 176,000 under the gun and was called by Steve Vang on the button.

Vang: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Shogren: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

"Oooh, ouch," Shogren said.

It was Vang in pain after the river though as the board ran out {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

Jason Seitz Eliminated in 8th Place ($9,582)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jason Seitz - 8th Place
Jason Seitz - 8th Place

Jason Seitz opened for 45,000 under the gun and was called by Ervin Bjerga in middle position. In the small blind, Ken Pates announced a reraise and made it 145,000 to go. Seitz called, as did Bjerga, bloating the pot to more than 400,000. Pates fired 135,000 on the {j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, and Seitz immediately shoved in for about 200,000. Bjerga folded, and Pates called just as quickly.

Pates: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Seitz: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Seitz needed a third queen, but the turn was a {6-Clubs} and the river a {5-Hearts}.

Jeremy Dresch Eliminated in 9th Place ($6,496)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jeremy Dresch - 9th Place
Jeremy Dresch - 9th Place

Jeremy Dresch defended his big blind from a cutoff raise by Dennis Stevermer. On the {3-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, he checked to the raiser, who bet 54,000. Dresch pushed his whole stack forward: 192,000. Stevermer called in short order.

Stevermer: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Dresch: {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Stevermer had heaps of outs, and both the {9-Clubs} turn and {a-Diamonds} river represented two of them. He took the pot with his flush, eliminating one of the more accomplished players at the final table.
