Welcome to Mid-States Poker Tour Running Aces Harness Park

Will Mark Sandness be back to defend his title?
Will Mark Sandness be back to defend his title?

Coming off of one of the biggest events in tour history two weeks ago, the Mid-States Poker Tour returns this week to Running Aces Harness Park, the site of the tour's first stop this year, in February. Then, Mark Sandness topped a field of 354 runners to snag a first-place prize of $90,913 when he defeated tour pro Blake Bohn heads up.

Though we are unlikely to see a field that match's the whopping 487 who showed up at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino two weeks, the hype and momentum built by that impressive event may have some spillover here and result in more entries than expected.

Cards are scheduled to fly at 4 p.m. local time here in Columbus, Minn., and the structure in use will be the Allen Kessler-approved variety adopted by the tour earlier this year. Players will start with 20,000 in chips, and blinds will be 50/100 at the beginning, with levels lasting 40 minutes and breaks given every three levels. Each player is allowed one reentry should he or she bust out during the course of Day 1a play, so keep that in mind when browsing the reports.
