Peixin Liu just took a seat at Table 14. He won this event last time the Mid-States Poker Tour was in town, taking home more than $106,000 for first place. Liu's seat is to the immediate left of Matt Kirby for the moment, though there are a couple of empty seats between them. Expect those two aggressive players to butt heads if they pick up any cards against each other.
Mike Schneider has also taken a seat at a different table.

After coming back from an event on the East Coast at Maryland Live! Casino, the Mid-States Poker Tour returns to its home state of Minnesota for an event at Canterbury Park. Canterbury is the very first venue that the MSPT ever used, and last year it drew one of the biggest fields of the year with 432 players. That event was won by Minnesotan Peixin Liu for $106,483.
Cards are set to fly at 4 p.m. local time here just outside of Minneapolis, and the plan for Day 1a is to play 14 levels. Each level will last 40 minutes, and player will begin with 20,000 in chips. Blinds begin at 50/100 and breaks are every three levels under the Allen Kessler-approved structure. Players are allowed one reentry per day should they be eliminated.
Stay tuned for live updates throughout the day here at Canterbury.
