Wazwaz Eliminates Stevermer

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Dennis Stevermer
Dennis Stevermer

Rob Wazwaz opened to 2,500 in late position, and Dennis Stevermer said he was all in from the big blind.

"Gimme an exact chip count," Wazwaz said. Told it was 24,200, he called moments later.

Wazwaz: {a-}{j-}
Stevermer: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The dealer spread a flop of {8-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades}, and Stevermer pounded the felt sharply in submission.

"Good luck, guys," he said, rising from his seat.

"You've got clubs," someone said after the {3-Clubs} arrived on the turn, but it was a {3-Diamonds} river to give Wazwaz a boat.

Liu Keeps Back-to-Back Bid Alive

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Peixin Liu just doubled up with {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, the nut straight on a {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{q-} board. We didn't see his opponent's hand, as it was already in the muck, and he sent Liu 6,700.

Fussy Eliminates Lesniak

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Leo Fussy
Leo Fussy

In a pot where Leo Fussy limped in and called a raise from Derek Lesniak, the board read {5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{7-Clubs} on the turn. Lesniak bet about 10,000, and Fussy said he was all in, putting Lesniak at risk for about 7,000 more. Lesniak called.

Fussy: {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Lesniak: {a-}{a-}.

The board paired on the river, but it was a {7-Spades}, filling Fussy up.

The players are on a 10-minute break.

Ethridge Eliminates Seitz

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

We found Jason Seitz tanking on a board of {7-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Elizabeth Ethridge had put him all in for about 25,000 into a pot containing around 18,000. Seitz tanked for about four minutes before deciding to call it off.

"I'm ahead right now," Ethridge said, showing {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} for top two.

"You're way ahead," Seitz agreed, turning over {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}, needing a straight draw to come through. He didn't get there as the {7-Diamonds} paired the board.

No Waiting

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

DJ Buckley three-bet to 3,000 in second position after Jon Hanner opened to 1,200 under the gun. Two players cold-called, and Hanner came along, seeing an {8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop. Buckley put out a bet after Hanner checked, and a player in middle position raised to 25,000. That chased away the fourth player and Hanner, and Buckley put in his 16,200.

Buckley: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Opponent: {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

The turn brought a {5-Hearts}, giving Buckley a better flush, but he still needed to fade the open-ended straight flush draw. A {q-Clubs} river was clean for him.
