Straight Flush for Heckathorn

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

We found Gerald Heckathorn getting an opponent all in on a board of {8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for about 10,000. Heckathorn's opponent showed {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, having turned a straight, but he was drawing stone dead against Heckathorn's {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, a straight flush.

Heckathorn's looking for his second Mid-States Poker Tour final table this season.

Matheson Busted

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Joe Matheson put in his last 8,000 or so on a {5-}{3-}{2-} flop, and his opponent made the call with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

"Show me two nines," he said after talking himself into the call.

Matheson had {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, just as good for his opponent, who had {10-}{10-}. Matheson didn't find a third eight.

Morgan Busted; Seitz Doubles

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
John Morgan
John Morgan

John Morgan lost the last 6,000 in his stack with {a-}{10-} gainst a player with {a-}{k-} and head to reenter.

At another table, Jason Seitz came out with about 10,000 over an opponent's bet of 2,100, leaving himself with just a few thousand behind on the {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop. Seitz's opponent called after a lengthy tank, and Seitz pushed in his last 3,550 on the {j-Diamonds} turn. His opponent called, and Seitz showed he was on the draw with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. His opponent had {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and was fading spades, aces and queens. The {3-Spades} was just the ticket for Seitz, filling his flush.
