Play time is over and it's time for things to get serious at Mid-States Poker Tour Grand Falls Casino just outside of Sioux Falls, S.D. Two starting flights have been completed, and 54 runners remain of 238 entrants. Today, they'll play down to a winner who will be crowned the latest MSPT champion and take home more than $64,000 in prize money.
Alan Curl comes in toting the biggest stack with 241,500, followed by Day 1b leader Chuck Costanzo with 191,000. Other top contenders include Mark Hodge (145,000), Matt Alexander (144,000), "DQ" Dan Hendrickson (128,500), Matt Kirby (118,500), Peixin Liu (116,500), and Phil Mader (102,500).
Cards fly at 10:30 a.m. local time with blinds beginning at 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante. They'll go up every 40 minutes from there on out until a final table has been reached. At that point, after a dinner break, the levels move to an hour apiece.
