Day 1a Started
The Mid-States Poker Tour looks to set another record as it returns to familiar venue Meskwaki Casino in Tama, Iowa today. The tour drew excellent numbers in three events here last year, culminating in pro Nick Jivkov defeating a state-record field (for a buy-in over $1,000) of 426 en route to a $104,974 pay day.
Cards are set to fly at 4 p.m. as the tour returns to its usual starting time after the unique Golden Gates event in Colorado. Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler's signature blind structure will be in use as players start the day with 20,000 chips at 50/100 blinds. The tournament will progress from there with a new level every 40 minutes. Each player is allowed one reentry per starting flight up to the end of the break after Level 9 (400/800/100).
We'll be bringing all of the live updates right here on PokerNews.
