Hodge Loses a Chunk

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Mark Hodge bet 4,500 from under the gun into a pot of about 8,500 with the board reading {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{k-Clubs} on fourth street. His opponent thought a long time and called. The board paired with the {a-Spades}, and Hodge verbalized a check. His opponent checked back and turned over {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Hodge couldn't beat the boat, and he's down to about two-thirds of the starting stack on his second bullet.

Garrison Picks Off, Eliminates Bluffer

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Aaron Garrison bet 1,500 into a four-way pot on a board of {j-Spades}{k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} from the big blind. A player in middle position raised to 4,000, and Garrison called. On the {5-Spades} river, Garrison checked. His opponent shoved in for 6,000.

"That would be like the sickest check back on the flop," Garrison mused.

Eventually, he did call. His opponent rolled over {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, and Garrison showed {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a flopped Broadway straight.

Hodge on Final Bullet

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Mark Hodge said he lost his first buy-in after limping {7-}{7-} and calling a raise, seeing a {6-}{7-}{8-} flop. Hodge checked, his opponent bet 5,000, and Hodge clicked back to 10,000. Hodge's opponent called and a {9-} hit the turn. Hodge moved in and his opponent called with {a-}{10-}, holding on the river.

Hodge exercised his option to reenter.

Dimatteo Bluff Off a Chunk

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Jonathan Dimatteo
Jonathan Dimatteo

Three players saw a {3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, and the big blind bet 1,250. Jonathan Dimatteo called from middle position, and Jason Zarlenga folded in the small blind. The big blind bet 1,325 more on the {9-Clubs}, and Dimatteo made it 3,600. The big blind called, and he check-called 6,000 more on the {8-Spades} river.

Dimatteo shook his head and showed {a-}{k-}, not enough to best {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Cooler for Kennedy

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

We didn't see the action, but the dealer was counting out the stack of a player who had {k-}{k-} in front of him. It looked like around 18,000, and it all went to Ed Kennedy, who had aces in the hole and covered the player with kings.

Jason Zarlenga

Jason Zarlenga raised to 350 from the button but got three-bet to 850 by big blind Crystal Utley. Zarlenga called, bringing a {10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop. Utley bet 1,600, and Zarlenga called. Utley bet 2,600 more on the {10-Spades} turn, and Zarlenga raised to 7,800. Utley called immediately and checked the {5-Diamonds}. Zarlenga checked back and he couldn't beat two jacks.
