Carey Doubles Through Poll Aces Over Kings

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

After a player opened for 26,000 and Demian Poll three-bet to 130,000 next to act, Irene Carey four-bet jammed for 237,000 from the big blind. The original raiser folded and Poll quickly called.

Demian Poll: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Irene Carey: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

It was a cooler and Poll was on the bad end of it. A king appeared in the window on the {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop but it was followed by an ace to give both players a set.

Neither the {j-Diamonds} turn nor {5-Clubs} river were the case king and Carey shipped the double.

Melasi Dominates Kirby

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Jason Melasi
Jason Melasi

Matt Kirby had his last 140,000 chips in the middle and was up against Jason Melasi. Kirby learned that he was dominated when both players showed their hands.

Jason Melasi: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Matt Kirby: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop was no good for Kirby as it gave him one less out. It was all over on the {2-Clubs} turn card. The meaningless {2-Diamonds} fell on the river and Kirby made his way to the payout desk.

Kapoor Breaks the Bank

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Jason Kapoor
Jason Kapoor

Action folded to Mitchell Bank in the small blind and he jammed his short stack in the middle. Jason Kapoor was in the big and looked him up.

Mitchell Bank: {9-Spades}{4-Spades}
Jason Kapoor: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

"Live cards," Bank said optimistically. He did manage to pair his nine on the {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop but it was no good as Kapoor also paired his ace.

Neither the {q-Clubs} turn nor {5-Diamonds} river helped Bank and he bowed out in 85th place.

Koss Catches the Turn

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Robert Koss
Robert Koss

Robert Koss moved his last five big blinds into the middle from under the gun. Scott Davis was next to act and re-shoved for 200,000. Everyone else got out of the way and they both turned their cards over.

Scott Davis: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Robert Koss: {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Koss added a gut shot four to his outs when the flop came {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. He didn't need a four any longer as the {a-Spades} turn gave him top pair.

The {6-Hearts} river completed the board and Koss was able to stay alive.

Koss Spikes River to Double Again

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Robert Koss moved all in for 130,000 from the hijack and Ben Keeline called out of the big blind.

Robert Koss: {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Ben Keeline: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

Keeline had the best of it and it looked as if he was going to score the knockout through the {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} turn. However, Koss received a reprieve when the {k-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give him new life.
