Shen was ahead going to the flop but quickly found himself in need of help as came onto the board to give Heath two pair. Shen now would need to hit a six for a gutshot or running cards for a better two pair or trips. The turn and river provided him no such help and he wound up finishing the tournament in seventh place.

Ditrapani Gets a Three-Bet Past Herstein

Gary Herstein raised to 205,000 from under the gun and action folded around to Nicola Ditrapani, who three-bet to 625,000 from the small blind.

Josh Reichard folded his big blind and action went back to Herstein, who thought for just under a half-minute before sending his cards to the muck.

Ditrapani Punishes the Flop Lead

Gerald Heath saw action folded to him and completed his small blind, putting action onto Nicola Ditrapani in the big blind. Ditrapani raised to 300,000 and Heath thought for a few moments before putting in chips to call.

The flop dropped and Heath led out, betting 300,000. Ditrapani went into the tank, studying the situation for well over a minute. He then put out a raise to 725,000.

Heath then thought about his own decision for some time and ultimately let his hand go, resulting in Ditrapani earning the pot to bring him over 3 million in chips.

Wai Ngai opened to 200,000 from the hijack and Yao Yin called all in for 170,000 from the cutoff. Josh Reichard also called out of the big blind.

Ngai and Reichard checked down the runout of and all three hands were tabled.

All three players' aces remained unpaired and Reichard's nine proved to be the best of the three, earning him the pot as Yin became the sixth-place finisher of the tournament.

Wai Ngai raised to 1.2 million from under the gun and Nicola Ditrapani three-bet all in from the button. Ngai called off the last 80,000 and the two tabled their hands.

It was a classic coin flip situation and the odds didn't change much as the flop came , giving Ditrapani four more outs to Broadway. That was the closest he would get to the knockout though, as the turn and river kept Ngai on top and secured him the double.
