Waalen Puts Boyer To the Test; Tkachuk Ousted

Brandon Waalen was on the button and saw action fold to him. He opened to 55,000 and was three-bet to 145,000 by Kevin Boyer, who was in the big blind. Waalen called.

The flop dropped and Boyer made a continuation-bet of 125,000. Waalen called. The turn was and Boyer checked.

"All in," said Waalen, putting Boyer to a decision for his remaining 395,000. He thought for about a half-minute and then sent his cards to the deck.

Ozturk Rips It on Dresch

Umut Ozturk opened to 65,000 in early position and action made its way around to Gary Loeffler, who threw in the last of his chips from the big blind. Ozturk made the call.

Loeffler went from having three outs to four as the flop came as Ozturk's top pair, top kicker gave Loeffler a draw to Broadway. However, that was the closest he would get to catching up as the turn and river rolled off the deck to complete the runout, sending Loeffler home in 18th place.

Ted Sennes put his last 62,000 in from early position and action folded around to Nicholas Welu, who called in the small blind. Aaron Johnson also called in the big blind to take any future action to a side pot.

Both players checked the flop and the turn came . Welu bet 50,000 and Johnson folded.

"No ace," said Sennes of his own hand, tabling .

"I have a set of deuces," responded Welu as he showed .

Sennes congratulated him on a nice hand and stood up to make his way from the table, realizing he was drawing dead as the river came to send him home in 17th place.

Meanwhile, Kevin Boyer and Jeremy Dresch were involved in a pot on the other table with at least 300,000 in the middle when Dresch check-folded to an all-in bet from Boyer for greater than the size of the pot, bringing Boyer up to 780,000 with Dresch now below the 500,000 mark for the first time since Day 1.

Ewald Gives a Fist Pump

Boyer Grips It and Rips It

Ryan Phan saw action folded to him in the hijack and opened to 89,000. He was called by both Dedric Henderson in the small blind and Kevin Boyer in the big blind. The three saw a flop of and action checked to Phan, who made a continuation-bet of 89,000. Henderson folded and Boyer called, taking action heads up to the turn .

"All in," said Boyer, effectively putting Phan to a decision for his remaining chips. Phan thought for about two minutes and then sent his cards to the muck. With the pot, Boyer now finds himself at around 1.21 million, making him one of the bigger stacks in the room now with 16 still remaining and less than 10 minutes left in Level 23.
