Magnus Gets Value With Straight

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Five players saw a flop of {8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} to bring about 3,600 in the middle. Three checks led to the hijack betting 2,300, and only Nadya Magnus called out of the big blind.

Action proceeded heads up to the turn {j-Clubs} and both players checked. A brick river saw Magnus fire out 3,600 and her opponent quickly tossed out a T5,000 chip to signify a call, which the dealer announced.

Magnus showed {9-Hearts}{8-Spades} for the turned straight and her opponent mucked.

"Fourteen hundred," said the dealer, making change to send to the hijack. She then sent the correct pot to Magnus, who finds herself up to 34,000 after the hand.

The river came {3-Clubs} and action checked through to showdown. The hijack showed {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a busted backdoor Broadway draw and Brinn tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}, earning the pot with his jacks up.
