Magnus Gets Value With Straight

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Five players saw a flop of {8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} to bring about 3,600 in the middle. Three checks led to the hijack betting 2,300, and only Nadya Magnus called out of the big blind.

Action proceeded heads up to the turn {j-Clubs} and both players checked. A brick river saw Magnus fire out 3,600 and her opponent quickly tossed out a T5,000 chip to signify a call, which the dealer announced.

Magnus showed {9-Hearts}{8-Spades} for the turned straight and her opponent mucked.

"Fourteen hundred," said the dealer, making change to send to the hijack. She then sent the correct pot to Magnus, who finds herself up to 34,000 after the hand.

There was around 3,000 in the middle on a board of {6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{a-Spades} in a heads-up pot between Cody Brinn, who was on the button, and his opponent in the hijack. The hijack bet 2,100 and Brinn thought for a couple of moments before putting out chips to match.

The river came {3-Clubs} and action checked through to showdown. The hijack showed {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a busted backdoor Broadway draw and Brinn tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}, earning the pot with his jacks up.

Armstrong's Kicker Plays

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Justin Armstrong opened the action with a raise to 600 in early position and action folded around to the big blind, who defended. The flop came {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and the big blind checked. Armstrong made a continuation-bet of 700 and the big blind called.

The turn was kc]. The big blind checked again and Armstrong continued, firing a second barrel for 1,200. The big blind called once more, bringing the river {2-Clubs} where both players checked to take the hand to showdown.

The big blind turned over {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for top pair and Armstrong showed {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. His six played and proved to be the difference between the two players' hands, earning him the pot with his top pair.

Godley Sends One Home Early

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

The dealer was in the process of sending chips in the direction of Grant Godley, whose winning hand of {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} was displayed on a board of {7-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. His opponent's hand was already mucked and stacks had been counted to determine that Godley covered the player's total chips, resulting in the pot being shipped Godley's way as the other player found themselves hitting the rail in Level 1.
